Lips Couch!

Kenny from Vhp Records and I have finished a new song called 'Your Kiss' and we shot the first scene of the music video the other day!
I think this will be a really cool scene because we were able to shoot on a Salvador Dali style couch in the shape of big red lips!

Big Love Music Launch

Big Love and I had our first gig at Left Bank on Saturday which was really fun!
I sang two sets with origionals from our upcoming album and a couple of covers.
The venue is gorgeous so it was cool to sing there.
Thanks to everyone who came down to support us. We'll be back next Saturday too!

Venus Mars Shoot

Travis and I got some new photos done for our duo Venus Mars. This was a hilarious shoot! We had heaps of fun going nuts, jumping around, jamming on the guitar and even found a random mop and ironing board to put into our photos....why I'm still not sure...but it was fun!

Student of the Year!

YAY! At the Jaanz School of Singing's end of year concerts I got the student of the year award! I never win trophies...so I was pretty excited to get one with a microphone on it!
When they called my name I almost thought it was going to be one of those moments where someone starts walking up only to realise it wasn't actually them and they just heard it wrong haha. So I kind of looked around to make sure the real person wasn't going up...but it was me. Yay!
You might be thinking...um calm down it's just a singing school award haha but I was pretty excited! The closest thing I've got to a trophy before this was a big fat book on Gondwanaland that I received when I won some school Biology prize... haha. Or this trophy with a horse on it that I bought myself on a school camp when I was like 10...

Tickle My Arts Festival

I was asked to sing at the Tickle My Arts Show which was part of the Big West Festival a couple of nights ago.
I was happy because I got to sing more souly/bluesy stuff which I LOVE.
I did some origional songs I had written and recorded when I was younger before I started officially working with any producer as I used to write a lot in that style. I also did some covers of classic songs by Nina Simone etc.
Here is a little clip of me singing a version of Orange Moon by Erkyah Badu.

My Pop Diary Photos

Here are some photos from a shoot I did for the new TV show that I'm filming with Vhp Records called 'My Pop Diary'.
This show should be really cool because it combines the medias of television and music and will hopefully show people a little more about what I do.
The show will follow the making of the Good Girls music video, recording, shoots and other stuff we do at Vhp.
I was actually doing some interviews and filming in the studio for the show yesterday!
I'll tell you more about that later... For now here are a few photos from the opening sequence of the show!

Ice Bar Photos

Here are the photos from the Big Love shoot at Chill on Ice Lounge!The entire bar was made of ice including the cups!Anthony is sitting on the ice throne! haha it was cold.This was the most freezing part of the bar because the aircon was blowing right on this spot. -10 plus wind chill factor...I couldn't feel my hands!

Behind the Scenes at Chill On

Well this shoot was COLD but fun. It was at Chill On Ice Lounge which is kept at negative 10 degrees celcius and is full of beautiful ice sculptures. Everything is ice; the walls, the furniture, the bar and even the glasses you drink out of.
The shoot was of Anthony James from Big Love and myself for some publicity shots. We wanted something different to the usual band shots people take like standing next a wall or something boring haha so we chose the ice lounge!
You are supposed to wear big jackets and gloves in there but we wore normal clothes for the shoot so we were a bit chilly... My fingers felt like they were going to fall off!
The photographers were awesome! They made sure each shoot was quick and easy and got all the right shots so that we didn't get frostbite haha. Massive shout out to Taras Taraporvala (photographer) and James Thomas (assistant) for the shoot! Also to Chill On for letting us shoot there and Sher for getting me awesome clothes to wear. (Loved that leather skirt!)
Here is a little behind the scenes video. The song on it is a sneak preview demo version of our song Candyland. It's my favourite track and Anthony's least favourite of all our songs haha so see what you think.

P.S I licked the furniture.

Challenge Fundraiser

Last night I sang at a fundraiser for the charity 'Challenge'. It was held at a beautiful winery and was lots of fun!
I sang a few jazz/blues songs (YAY I love singing that style) and also some songs for Bob Messenger, a cancer survivor who has now written an album.
It was a really great atmosphere and I was happy to sing for such a good cause.

Boom Showcase

Here is a video and some photos of some of my songs in the Boom Launch and Showcase.
Of course there was drama (as usual) with the assistant make-up artist being sick and dancers pulling out last minute but we got it together in the end. My beautiful make-up artist Lysha ended up dancing for us! She's a multi talented girl that one! You can also see Tracey and Lauren in the video who will both be in the 'Wild' clip that's coming up. A body painter came and decorated the girls for the show too. We'll be seeing more of her work in the next clip...but I can't say too much just yet. ;)
I spent a day designing and sewing a dress to wear which could rip off during the show so that was fun too!Thanks to everyone who came down to support us!

Boom Video Launch

Finally! We are having our launch of the music video BOOM combined with a live gig! It's on the 26th September and we'll have dancers, an awesome stage set up, local bands, merchandise, a fashion parade and of course the first ever viewing of the 'Boom' music video!
The video features, my dancers, me as a blonde and heaps more so it's really fun. We are doing the show in a theater too so hopefully it'll be really good.
I'll be singing 'Boom' and two new songs, including the song that our next video will be for. It's called 'Wild' and we have big plans for it! hehe.
Tickets are $15 and are pre-sale only, but everyone who buys tickets will get a free copy of the 'Boom' DVD featuring the music video, behind the scenes footage, interviews and bloopers.
We'll also have some random door prizes on the night!

One More Second

A new track from Big Love and myself is up for sale on Amazon, Itunes and Rhapsody!
It's called 'One More Second' and is a really cool dance track, it has beautiful violas in it and even a bit of French...haha.

Big Love Tracks

We are smashing out a new track almost every week so there's lots in store from Big Love!
It's really fun to make commercial house/electro music for something different. Keeps me dancing around my room as I write the lyrics to the tracks producer Anthony James sends me haha.
